Young Chinese basketball players departing to Lithuania greeted in Beijing
The official program of the Youth Basketball Training Camp in Lithuania for a young Chinese team was presented on 7 January in Beijing. Before the departure to Lithuania, the young Chinese basketball players were greeted by the staff of the Embassy of Lithuania in Beijing.
“Basketball brings our countries closer together. This program not only gives sportsmen an opportunity to get acquainted with Europe’s best basketball traditions, this is also a great opportunity for the young Chinese people to learn about Lithuania, a common European culture and to make friends here,” said Counsellor at the Lithuanian Embassy Rytis Satkauskas.
The program of training camps in Lithuania will give the young Chinese basketball players an opportunity to improve their skills with the help of Lithuanian youth basketball coaches. They will also play friendly matches, participate in workshops and watch professional basketball.
Cooperation between the Lithuanian and Chinese basketball federations will enable basketball experts of the two countries to share their experience gained in training of basketball players and popularizing this sports branch. The Embassy hopes that the cooperation will contribute significantly to promoting Lithuania among the Chinese youth.
