WAYS TO STRENGTHEN BILATERAL COOPERATION BETWEEN LITHUANIA AND QATAR WERE DISCUSSED
On 13 May, Lithuania’s Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Šarūnas Adomavičius received Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Lithuania Abdulrahman Mohamed Sulaiman Al-Khulaifi. During the meeting, the Vice-Minister expressed Lithuania’s intention to develop mutually beneficial bilateral relations and to exchange high level visits, to intensify business connections, for the foreign ministries of both countries to sign the Memorandum of Cooperation and to initiate bilateral economic agreements.
Vice-Minister Š.Adomavičius highlighted Qatar’s rapid economic development, its role on the international arena and achievements in the areas of energy and education.
The Ambassador of Qatar gave a promise to aim to intensify bilateral cooperation, to attract the investments of Qatar and to boost economic exchanges.
Ambassador Abdulrahman Mohamed Sulaiman Al-Khulaifi resides in Berlin. The Ambassador arrived in Lithuania to present credentials to President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė. He is the second Ambassador of the State of Qatar, accredited to Lithuania.
Lithuania and Qatar established diplomatic relations on 25 November 1992.
