VILLA LITUANIA ISSUE WAS DISCUSSED IN KLOSTERNEUBURG

On 28 May Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis who took part in the informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Klosterneuburg, Austria, met with the new Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Massimo D’Alema and acquainted him with the problem of the former Lithuanian Embassy’s building „Villa Lituania“ that Lithuania had not yet regained.

The Head of Lithuanian Diplomacy stressed that Lithuania had raised this issue and negotiated it with every Government of Italy, but unfortunately no progress had been made so far.

Italian Foreign Minister D’Alema promised to take interest in the history of the former Lithuanian Embassy’s building „Villa Lituania“ and to help to settle this issue faster.
