Vice-Minister Valys: Partnership with Poland and South Korea strengthens resilience of supply chains
On 29 October in Vilnius, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taurimas Valys, participated in an international expert and business seminar on supply chain security, "The role of Central and Eastern Europe in global supply chains – opportunities and challenges. Views from Warsaw, Vilnius and Seoul".
According to the Vice-Minister, Lithuania and the European Union as a whole must be well prepared to ensure the resilience of supply chains in critical sectors.
"We strongly support the implementation of the European Economic Security Strategy and the development of economic partnerships with like-minded countries, because only in this way can we diversify supply chains and react promptly to practices of economic coercion," said Valys.
The Vice-Minister emphasized that Poland was Lithuania's most important trading partner and a priority market for high-tech cooperation. Cooperation between Lithuania and South Korea has recently gained momentum. Business delegations have been exchanged, and there is a shared interest in developing cooperation in the semiconductor industry.
Representatives from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lithuanian, Polish, and South Korean scientific institutes spoke at the event, and a discussion with business representatives followed.
The seminar was organized by the Polish and South Korean Embassies in Lithuania in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, the Polish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, and other partners.
