On 23 January, at an event at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs dedicated to the development of bilateral economic cooperation between Lithuania and Canada, representatives of Lithuanian institutions and business associations were presented with the activities and opportunities of the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), which supports international public sector and business projects by acting as Canada's state agency.

Lithuanian institutions and business associations were presented with the activities and opportunities of the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), which supports international public sector and business projects by acting as Canada's state agency.

When opening the event, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taurimas Valys, emphasized the progress of bilateral cooperation and potential for the future.

“Lithuania-Canada bilateral cooperation is steadily strengthening. The solutions offered by the CCC open up new opportunities for Lithuanian authorities to implement strategic projects together with reliable Canadian partners and further deepen our countries’ economic partnership,” said Valys.

During the event, Antony Rizk, Director of Business Development at CCC, acquainted Lithuanian institutions and representatives of business associations with the CCC business model and the benefits of the program. He highlighted the guarantees provided by the Canadian government, which reduce the risks for project developers, simplify procurement processes and facilitate the implementation of large-scale and strategic projects in cooperation with Canadian partners. Practical opportunities for Lithuanian authorities to use the CCC programme to implement joint projects with Canadian companies were also presented.

Discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation between Lithuania and Canada in areas such as infrastructure, defence and security, innovation, green transformation and high-value-added technologies.

The event confirmed the ambition of both sides to develop practical cooperation and exploit existing opportunities to create long-term added value.

The event was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Canada in Lithuania and the CCC.
