Vice-Minister Valys and Yotta representative discussed opportunities to develop strategic data and AI infrastructure in Lithuania

On 2 July, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Taurimas Valys discussed possibilities to develop data and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in Lithuania, including building mega data centers and developing advanced AI computing capabilities, with a representative of Yotta Data Services, India's provider of accelerated computing, a leader that drives the charge in Deep Tech and Applied AI.

The company presented a two-phase cooperation proposal, starting with the development of a Lithuanian-Indian AI innovation and start-up platform,  and then assessing investments in advanced data centre infrastructure in Lithuania.

“Lithuania aims to build a trusted hub for European data and AI infrastructure. We see a rising demand for advanced digital solutions; we are rapidly developing national AI capabilities, and we can offer investors a competitive, sustainable and safe environment for large-scale technology projects," said Vice-Minister Valys.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation, the Innovation Agency, Invest Lithuania, and the Ignitis Group, who participated in the meeting, presented Lithuania’s value proposition, highlighting the country’s strong digital ecosystem, the growing capacity of AI, green energy and the infrastructure needed for the development of data centres. It was noted that Lithuania is currently well positioned to attract large-scale investment in data and AI infrastructure.

Yotta Data Services is one of India’s fastest-growing data centers and AI infrastructure companies, which operates state-of-the-art hyperscale data centers and currently deploys more than 20,000 liquid-cooled NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra processors for a $2 billion AI supercluster.

The company has been actively expanding internationally, assessing investment opportunities abroad, and working closely with the U.S. technology partner NVIDIA, which creates technologies used to build next-generation AI.
