VICE-MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS TAKES PART IN THE OSCE HIGH LEVEL CONFERENCE ON COMBATING DISCRIMINATION
On 7-8 June Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Jaroslav Neverovič took part in Organization’s for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) High-Level Conference on Combating Discrimination and Promoting Mutual Respect and Understanding in Bucharest.
“Lithuania has many times stressed the special role of education and information for the society in fight against discrimination and promotion of tolerance,” Vice-Minister J. Neverovič said presenting the activities of centres of tolerance and implementation of National Program Against Discrimination in Lithuania.
During the conference plenary sessions focused on anti-Semitism and other forms of intolerance, the role of the legal acts, education and media in promotion of tolerance, mutual respect and understanding was discussed.
OSCE organizes conferences against intolerance every year since 2003. They aim at promotion of the OSCE members’ human right commitments.
