TREATY ON BILATERAL LITHUANIAN-CROATIAN INVESTMENT PROMOTION WAS INITIALLED IN ZAGREB
On 30 May Lithuanian Government delegation headed by Director of Law and International Treaties Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrius Namavičius initialled a Treaty on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments between Lithuanian and Croatian Governments after two days of negotiations in Zagreb.
Delegation of the Government of Croatia was headed by the chief adviser on economy, foreign relations and trade policy issues of the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Croatia Neven Ordljin.
The Treaty stipulates a legal mechanism of capital movement between both countries, establishes the principle of non-discrimination and the most-favoured-nation treatment for the investors of both countries, free fund transfer regarding the investments, basis for investment dispute arbitration and other means of investment protection.
The Treaty shall come into force after it is signed and ratified by the parliaments of both countries.
