TOPICAL ISSUES OF REGIONAL COOPERATION WERE DISCUSSED IN HELSINKI

On 6-7 February annual meeting of political directors of Nordic and Baltic States, so called Nordic and Baltic Eight (NB8), took place in Helsinki. At the meeting Lithuania was represented by Undersecretary of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Laimonas Talat-Kelpša.

Representatives of Foreign Ministries of eight states discussed topical issues of international politics and regional cooperation.

Such topics as Russia, Belarus, the Middle East, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and the United Nations’ reforms were on the agenda of the meeting. The political directors decided to develop NB8 cooperation in different areas, organize additional expert meetings and exchange opinions on administrative activities of Foreign Ministries of Nordic and Baltic States.
