THE NEW AMBASSADOR OF LITHUANIA PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO UKRAINE’S PRESIDENT
On 14 January, Ambassador of Lithuania Petras Vaitiekūnas presented credentials to Ukraine’s President Viktor Yushchenko. Ambassador P.Vaitiekūnas assured that he would make every effort to continue the development of friendly bilateral relations that are based on mutual understanding.
“Joint projects in the areas of economy, energy and transport have a great potential,” President V.Yushchenko said.
That same evening during the Presidential New Year’s reception for the diplomatic corps, President of Ukraine V.Yushchenko gave a speech in front of over two hundred guests, stressing that he was satisfied with the development of Ukraine’s cooperation with Lithuania.
The President also highlighted that Ukraine aimed to contribute to the common European policy, by taking part in the creation of the energy transit space of the Caspian Sea, Black Sea and the Baltic Sea. Lithuania is one of the initiators of the project.
