THE NETHERLANDS TO REPRESENT LITHUANIA WHEN ISSUING SCHENGEN VISAS IN GHANA, ARUBA AND CURAÇAO
As of 1 January 2012, the agreement between Lithuania and the Netherlands comes into force, under which the Netherlands will represent Lithuania when issuing Schengen visas in Ghana, Aruba and Curaçao.Lithuania and other Schengen countries conclude agreements of representation when issuing visas in the countries where Lithuania has no diplomatic representations. Such agreements aim to facilitate the application for visas by foreigners who need visas to travel to Lithuania.
When issuing visas, Lithuania is already represented in 52 countries. Lithuania represents seven Schengen area member states in eleven countries. Currently, Lithuania undergoes negotiations on the country’s broader representation.
