THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF LITHUANIA RECEIVED THE NEW SPANISH AMBASSADOR

On 21 January, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Petras Vaitiekūnas received the new Spanish Ambassador to Lithuania José Luis Solano Gadea. Minister P.Vaitiekūnas and Ambassador J.L.Solano Gadea discussed the intended visit of the Spanish Royal family to Lithuania. During the conversation, the Minister and the Ambassador also exchanged the positions of their countries regarding the European Neighbourhood policy, discussed bilateral cooperation in the areas of policy, economy and culture, other issues of international policy.

Spanish Ambassador J.L.Solano Gadea thanked Minister P.Vaitiekūnas for taking part in the forum of the Alliance of Civilizations the previous week in Madrid.

Ambassador J.L.Solano Gadea is the second Spanish Ambassador, residing in Vilnius.

Lithuania and Spain re-established diplomatic relations on 7 October, 1991.
