THE LITHUANIAN MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS DISMISSES ALLEGATIONS AGAINST DIPLOMATS

The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs declares that allegations against the Lithuanian diplomats regarding the breaching of the lustration law constitute shallow and dishonest politics, as well as they cause a controversy in the society, which undermines the values of the Constitution and the interests of the Lithuanian State.

We are alluding to the fact that the trustworthiness of the persons who are accepted to the Lithuanian diplomatic service is guaranteed in accordance with the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania. The trustworthiness of the Lithuanian diplomats is also asserted by the rules of the European Union and NATO institutions.

The Lithuanian laws do not allow misleading, deceiving and confusing the society. We are urging everyone to feel responsible for their own words and actions.
