The head of Lithuania's diplomacy had a telephone conversation with the Albanian Foreign Minister

On 25 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, had a telephone conversation with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Igli Hasani. The meeting addressed the European Union's relations with the Western Balkan countries, the EU enlargement, and support for Ukraine.

“The European Union’s growing partnership with the Western Balkans region is an important component of European security and stability,” Minister Budrys said.

The Foreign Minister also stressed that the merit-based EU enlargement process contributes to Europe's prosperity, resilience, and increases security and must, therefore, must apply equally to all candidate countries seeking EU membership.

According to Budrys, this is especially important in the current geopolitical context.

The head of Lithuania's diplomacy stressed the need for European countries to unite in support of Ukraine and its aspirations for a just and lasting peace.
