On 15 November Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas had a telephone conversation with Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Anna Fotyga. The Ministers discussed the formation of the European Union’s position on the new EU-Russia agreement and talked about the situation after Russia’s restriction on food trade with Poland.

Concerning the preparation of the EU-Russia cooperation agreement both states seek inclusion of provisions, conforming to our energy security interests.

According to Mrs Fotyga, Poland hopes for compromise with Russia and solidarity among the EU Members.

The Ministers agreed that the unity inside the European Union is necessary, because any EU Member State can face the same situation as Poland.
