THE DAY OF RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF THE STATE OF LITHUANIA IS CELEBRATED IN NEW YORK
In the evening on 14 February, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis took part in the celebration of the Day of Re-establishment of the State of Lithuania that was co-organized by the Lithuanian Consulate General and the Permanent Mission of Lithuania to the United Nations in New York.
The event that was held at the Saint Peter’s Church in New York was attended by heads of foreign diplomatic missions who reside in New York and Lithuanians who live in New York.Minister A.Ažubalis congratulated the guests on the occasion of the Day of Re-establishment of the State of Lithuania, thanked his countrymen for their zealous efforts to protect and preserve the statehood and the community, and expressed gladness about Lithuania’s activities as the current Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
The participants of the event listened to a performance by the Lithuanian pianist Petras Geniušas, who is visiting the U.S.
