Team Lita Business Award“ debuts in Israel, celebrating economic ties between countries
On November 7, 2024, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Israel, marking its 30th anniversary, held the inaugural "Team Lita Business Award" event to honor and recognize business representatives who have contributed to strengthening economic cooperation between Lithuania and Israel.
The first recipient of the award was the Israeli company Wix, one of the world's leading website creation platforms. Wix empowers individuals and businesses to easily create professional, customized, and attractive websites without complex coding. The company is also celebrated for its dedication to the professional development and well-being of its employees, fostering a modern workplace culture. In Lithuania, Wix operates a branch employing over 250 young and talented IT specialists.
Presenting the award, Lithuania's Ambassador to Israel, Audrius Brūzga, said: "Today, we turn our attention to the Israeli business community, which, despite challenges, works hard and responsibly to sustain the country's economy through times of conflict. We understand what it means to operate under threats to national security, as Ukrainian businesses and their Lithuanian partners have done for the past three years. Companies with Israeli capital that maintain and seek to expand ties with international partners deserve particular respect and recognition. I am confident that your partners in Lithuania have much to offer and are ready to work together to create new products, technologies, and professional services for the Middle Eastern and European markets. This award marks new opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation between Lithuania and Israel."
The Team Lita Business Award is an annual recognition by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Israel, given to a business representative or company for enhancing Lithuanian-Israeli economic cooperation. It honors those fostering long-term, sustainable, and successful partnerships between the two countries' businesses, and expanding trade, technological, and investment relations. The award also recognizes the creation of jobs, contributions to cultural dialogue between the countries, and social responsibility efforts where the individual or company actively supports important social projects in Lithuania or the well-being of the Lithuanian community in Israel.
