SUCCESSFUL POLITICAL COOPERATION BETWEEN LITHUANIA AND GEORGIA ESTABLISHES A COMMON GROUND FOR INTENSIFIED ECONOMIC RELATIONS

Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas with State Minister of Georgia for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Giorgi Baramidze discussed the current processes in Georgia, Georgia’s European and NATO integration perspectives and issues of bilateral relations between Lithuania and Georgia. G.Baramidze informed Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs about the course of reforms, issues related to conflict settlement, the European and Euro-Atlantic integration and thanked for consistent support.

Minister P.Vaitiekūnas indicated that successful political cooperation between the two countries established a firm ground for more active development of economic relations.

During his visit in Vilnius, G.Baramidze was also received by Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas, his meetings with President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus, Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas, members of the Seimas and Vilnius City Mayor Juozas Imbrasas are also planned.
