STRENGTHENING BILATERAL COOPERATION WITH THE U.S. AND ARGENTINA
On 17 August Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Audrius Navikas met with the Ambassador of Argentina Mrs Lila Subiran de Viana and discussed possibilities of bilateral cooperation development and mutual support in the international organizations. Ambassador Subiran de Viana noted that Argentina is interested in fostering trade relations with Lithuania as far as it is possible. The Ambassador showed interest in Lithuania’s regional and energy policy.
Argentine Ambassador resides in Helsinki and arrived to Lithuania to present credentials to the President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus.
On 17 August Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Albinas Januška received the U.S. Ambassador John A.Cloud and discussed successful cooperation between the states on regional policy issues, Lithuania’s international commitments, contributions in Afghanistan an Iraq, possible Lithuania’s humanitarian or other assistance in tackling the crisis in Lebanon.
The U.S. Ambassador has presented credentials to the President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus and plans to meet high Lithuanian officials in the nearest future.
