STATE SECRETARY OF LITHUANIAN MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS PAID A VISIT TO ISRAEL
On 22 May, State Secretary of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deividas Matulionis and State Secretary of Lithuanian Ministry of Economy Gediminas Miškinis paid a visit to Israel, where they met with officials of this country.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Matulionis met with heads of the Personnel Department and the Division for Central Europe and Eurasia of Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meetings, bilateral issues were discussed; experience in the area of personnel management was exchanged. The Middle East peace process and the situation in Iran were also discussed.
Discussing bilateral relations, D.Matulionis encouraged Israel to open an embassy in Vilnius.
During the meetings with heads of the Israel Ministry of Tourism and the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, State Secretary of Lithuanian Ministry of Economy G.Miškinis searched for means to stimulate bilateral economic cooperation, to start direct flights between Lithuania and Israel.
The State Secretaries also visited the largest Israel’s Conference and Exhibition Centre, where they suggested signing an agreement on bilateral cooperation with the Lithuanian Exhibition Centre LITEXPO.
