Snow Meeting to address top security and defence policy issues

On 15-16 January, Vilnius will host the traditional Snow Meeting, which will bring together foreign and security policy experts to discuss relevant topics on the political agenda.

The meeting will be opened by Lithuania's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kęstutis Budrys. This year's event will is to be attended by the Foreign Ministers of Estonia, Latvia, Romania, Finland, and Türkiye, the NATO  Deputy Secretary General, officials from Sweden and Germany, as well as Lithuanian politicians, representatives of institutions and academia, security policy experts from the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, and other countries.

The Snow Meeting is a premier security policy event in Lithuania with a long tradition. The main topics of this year's discussions will include strengthening support for Ukraine, NATO's deterrence and defence policy, preparations for the NATO Summit in Ankara, as well as security challenges facing the Nordic-Baltic region and the need for even deeper cooperation.

Organized annually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2008 and traditionally in the month of January, the Snow Meeting will be held for the nineteenth time this year.
