SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF GOOD NEIGHBOURLY RELATIONS WAS EMPHASIZED IN YEREVAN

Armenia’s needs in the area of European integration and possible forms of Lithuania’s support were discussed on 8 November, in Yerevan, during the meetings between Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas and Armenian President Robert Kocharian, Prime Minister Serge Sargsian, National Assembly Speaker Tigran Torosian.

Armenian representatives also presented the process of negotiations regarding Nagorno-Karabakh.

During the meetings, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs P.Vaitiekūnas highlighted the importance of Armenia’s European choice and the significance of the establishment of good neighbourly relations. The Minister suggested that Armenia should apply Lithuania’s experience of regional cooperation.

Today in Georgia Minister P.Vaitiekūnas is meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Gela Bezhuashvili and Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Nino Burjanadze, also with the EU Special Representative for the Southern Caucasus Peter Semneby to discuss the situation in Georgia.

The meetings of Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs P.Vaitiekūnas with President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili and Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli are also scheduled in Tbilisi.
