SECOND LITHUANIAN HONORARY CONSUL IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND TAKES OFFICE
On 2 April Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Ireland Izolda Bričkovskienė presented a consular patent signed by Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas and an exequatur of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ireland to the new Lithuanian Honorary Consul in Ireland Ronan Denis Hannigan. “Lithuanian Embassy in Ireland was opened just a few years ago and we already have a second Honorary Consul in the country. This proves the intensity and friendliness of bilateral relations and great perspectives,” said Ambassador I.Bričkovskienė.
Lithuanian Honorary Consul R.D.Hannigan shall reside in Dublin and perform Honorary Consul’s functions in County Wicklow, County Wexford and Dublin.
R.D.Hannigan is a lawyer by profession and a joint owner of a famous lawyer’s office in Dublin. This lawyer‘s office has a subsidiary in Wexford, where a large Lithuanian community is established.
R.D.Hannigan is also a member of the Irish Commercial Mediation Association and the Institute of Chartered Arbitrators, lecturer in company and commercial law with the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland, a chairman of the board of several charity organisations. R.D.Hannigan is interested in the projects of environment protection.
Representatives of the Irish Lithuanian Community, embassy workers and family of the Honorary Consul participated in the presentation ceremony.
