Representatives of Lithuanian and Turkish Foreign Ministries discussed foreign policy issues and security challenges
Today, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas met with the Deputy Undersecretary of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmet Muhtar Gün, who is visiting Lithuania.
The meeting focused on security policy issues, cooperation within NATO and preparations for the next NATO Summit that will take place in Warsaw. The officials discussed regional security challenges, the fight against international terrorism, the situation in the Middle East and a possible solution, stressed the importance of close cooperation between the EU and Turkey. In the meeting, the officials noted good and intensive bilateral relations, highlighted the need to continue to actively cooperate on foreign and security policy issues.
The Deputy Undersecretary of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Gün is participating in the ongoing traditional informal ‘Snow Meeting’ of Lithuanian and foreign experts in security policy in Trakai.
