REPRESENTATIVE OF THE WORLD LITHUANIAN COMMUNITY GABRIELIUS ŽEMKALNIS IS CONFERRED ‘THE STAR OF LITHUANIA’S MILLENNIUM’
On 2 February in Vilnius, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas conferred representative of the World Lithuanian Community Gabrielius Žemkalnis with the award of Foreign Ministry ‘The Star of Lithuania’s Millennium’. “It is a great honour for me to congratulate you on the occasion of the 80th anniversary and to award you with ‘The Star of Lithuania’s Millennium’. We are proud and value your immense input into fostering the Lithuanianhood and strengthening vitality of our country’s statehood,” said Minister V.Ušackas, while congratulating G.Žemkalnis.
Head of the Lithuanian diplomacy emphasised the merits of G.Žemkalnis to re-establishment of Lithuania’s Independence, while recruiting Lithuanians abroad and working many long years for the sake of Lithuania.
“You set the best example of a man, who asks not what his country can do for him, but what he can do for his country,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs, quoting President Kennedy.
