PROJECT TO SUPPORT CHILDREN OF ZAMBIA IS DISCUSSED AT THE LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY
On 6 October in Vilnius, Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Asta Skaisgirytė Liauškienė met with the implementers of the international project “Everyone” that aims to support the most disadvantaged children in Zambia and with representatives from the public organization “Gelbėkit vaikus Lietuva”, as well as with famous musicians from Zambia, and discussed with them the possibilities for cooperation when implementing the following phases of the project.
During the meeting, project coordinator Rasa Dičpetrienė and Tadas Vizgirda, the Chairman of the Board of “Gelbėkit vaikus Lietuva”, thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its assistance in obtaining visas to travel to Lithuania for the popular Zambian musicians - Maiko Zulu and Sister D - and introduced the international project that aims to support the children in one of the poorest African countries.The musicians from Zambia together with such Lithuanian singers as Andrius Mamontovas, Viktoras Diawara and others will give three concerts in Palanga, Vilnius and Kaunas. The profit will be allocated to the improvement of medical services in one of the villages in Zambia.
The project co-coordinator informed that currently they had collected already more than 100 thousand Litas. The campaign will run until 15 October. The people of Lithuania will have an opportunity to contribute to the financial support to Zambia’s children.
