POSSIBILITIES OF CLOSER LITHUANIAN-POLISH COOPERATION WERE DISCUSSED IN WARSAW
On 13 September State Secretary of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Algimantas Rimkūnas who was on a working visit to Warsaw met with Undersecretary of State of Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rafal Wisniewski and discussed closer cooperation between the foreign ministries in the sphere of cultural and economic diplomacy.
The officials also talked about the ways to improve the exchange of experience and coordination of activities providing help to the new democracies. The establishment of Lithuanian Culture Institute in Poland was also touched upon. Polish Foreign Ministry has a wide experience in this field therefore their assistance would be particularly valuable to Lithuania.
Mr Rimkūnas also met with foreign ambassadors accredited to Lithuania and acquainted them with important issues of Lithuanian internal and foreign policy.
In the afternoon State Secretary Rimkūnas attended the ballet “Desdemona” by Anatolij Šenderov performed by Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre on occasion of the opening of Lithuania’s Days in Poland.
