Political Director Skusevičius met with the new Swedish ambassador
On 19 August, Darius Skusevičius, Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Urban Andersson, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Lithuania.
The meeting covered bilateral political and economic cooperation between Lithuania and Sweden, the security situation in the Baltic Sea region, support for Ukraine, and Lithuania’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU.
“Lithuania and Sweden are linked by common strategic interests—a secure region, resilient societies, the promotion of innovation, and an economy that generates high added value. The significant growth in cooperation between Lithuania and Sweden in the defense industry sector provides a solid foundation for a long-term strategic partnership,” emphasized Skusevičius.
Ambassador Urban Andersson presented his credential letters to President Gitanas Nausėda of the Republic of Lithuania today.
