Political Director Skusevičius met with the new Dutch ambassador to Lithuania

On 19 August, Darius Skusevičius, Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Caecilia Theodora Maria Wijgers.

The meeting with the Ambassador focused on bilateral cooperation, the security situation in the region, support for Ukraine, and Lithuania’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The Political Director thanked the Ambassador for the participation of Dutch troops in the NATO multinational battlegroup in Lithuania. He called for further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the economic and defense sectors.

Ambassador Caecilia Wijgers presented her letters of credence today to President Gitanas Nausėda of the Republic of Lithuania.
