Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with the newly appointed Cambodian ambassador to Lithuania
On 19 August, Political Director Darius Skusevičius received Chea Chanboribo, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Lithuania.
While discussing bilateral cooperation, both sides welcomed the intensified political dialogue this year: In April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kęstutis Budrys, paid an official visit to Cambodia, and in May, the second political consultations at the level of Vice-Ministers of Foreign Affairs took place in Vilnius. Skusevičius highlighted Lithuania’s active involvement in the European Union-funded “Global Gateway” programs in Cambodia.
Chea Chanboribo is the fifth Cambodian Ambassador accredited to Lithuania. Following the meeting, the Ambassador departed to present his credentials to Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania.
Lithuania and Cambodia established diplomatic relations in 2005. Lithuania is represented in Cambodia from Singapore.
