POLITICAL DIRECTOR OF LITHUANIA‘S MFA ATTENDED THE E-PINE CONSULTATIONS IN RIGA

Political Director of Lithuania‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eitvydas Bajarūnas attended the consultations among the political directors from foreign ministries of the countries-participants of the Enhanced Partnership in Northern Europe (e-PINE). The consultations were held on 4 June in Riga.

Relations with Russia, Turkey and the EU‘s Eastern Partnership countries, Iran‘s nuclear policy were discussed at the meeting.

The e-PINE initiative was officially launched in 2003 in Washington. It is a cooperation mechanism for Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the U.S.A. The initiative aims to enhance the cooperation of the United States with the Baltic States and Nordic countries. The meetings at various diplomatic levels are held twice or thrice each year.
