PERMANENT CHAIR OF EU POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE OF EUROPEAN EXTERNAL ACTION SERVICE PAYS A VISIT TO VILNIUS
On June 3 Olof Skoog, the Permanent Chair of the EU Political and Security Committee (PSC) of the European External Action Service, paid a visit to Vilnius. The meeting with the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas focused on key issues of foreign policy within the Committee’s particular area of competence: the defence policy, the Eastern Partnership initiative, and security levels in different regions of the world. Bearing in mind Lithuania’s incoming six-month Presidency, the officials discussed cooperation with the EEAS and the PSC.
The Permanent Chair of the PSC Olof Skoog also met with the Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Dalius Čekuolis, as well as with heads and representatives of the Foreign Ministry’s regional departments. The meeting examined countries on a case-by-case basis and regional issues, especially current situation in the Middle East region and Syria.
