PARTICIPANTS OF YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAMME FROM JAPAN VISITED LITHUANIA’S MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

On 6 September, participants of youth exchange programme from Japan (funded by the Japanese Government) visited Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they met with Political Director of the Ministry Eitvydas Bajarūnas.


Priorities of Lithuania’s foreign policy were presented and the history of Lithuania’s diplomacy was briefly introduced, as well as relations with the countries in the region, Lithuania’s ties with Asia and plans of the Lithuanian foreign policy were discussed at the meeting.

Twelve young people from Japan between 18 and 30 years of age participate in the programme during which they are visiting Lithuania for three weeks.

Under this programme, the Japanese have an opportunity to visit Lithuanian cities, learn about the Lithuanian culture, foreign and internal policy, economy, scientific achievements and everyday life, visit various Lithuanian state institutions and participate in the discussions with Lithuanian youth.

Under this programme, twelve young people from Lithuania visited Japan in July.
