On 6 November, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas met with Chairman of the Board of the Yachting Club Ambersail Raimundas Daubaras and its President Paulius Kovas.

Representatives of the Yachting Club Ambersail presented a remembrance medal to P.Vaitiekūnas, thus thanking for the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Lithuanian diplomatic missions abroad in the implementation of the project ‘Millennium Odyssey. One Name: Lithuania’.

The yachtsmen thanked Foreign Ministry for its help in solving organisational issues, such as obtaining foreign visas and organising meetings with Lithuanian communities and foreign media.

Head of the Lithuanian diplomacy was pleased that the crewmen of Ambersail were promoting the name of Lithuania in the world, informing the residents of foreign countries about Lithuania, its history and the people, as well as inviting everyone to take part in the celebrations of the millennium of Lithuania’s name and Vilnius – European Capital of Culture 2009.
