OSCE CHAIRMANSHIP REPRESENTATIVE IN ALBANIA FOR TALKS

VILNIUS, 27 January 2011 – Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Evaldas Ignatavičius, representing OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronis Ažubalis, is in Tirana today for talks with government and opposition leaders.

During the three-day visit, Ignatavičius will meet President Bamir Topi, Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto and Socialist Party Chair Edi Rama, as well as representatives of the EU and United States, with the aim of easing tensions and supporting dialogue to address the continuing political crisis in the country.

Ignatavičius will hold a news conference at 18.15 on Thursday, 27 January, at the Sheraton Hotel, Illyria III Room in Tirana.
