ON THE EVE OF PRESENTATION OF LETTERS OF CREDENCE MONGOLIA’S NEW AMBASSADOR VISITS LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY

On 13 November, the Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrius Krivas received the new Ambassador of Mongolia to Lithuania Adiya Ganbaatar, who is presenting the letters of credence to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė on 14 November.

The meeting discussed issues related to bilateral and multilateral political and economic relations between Mongolia and the European Union.

The Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister congratulated the guest and expressed the belief that the Ambassador’s appointment would give a new impetus to the relationship between Mongolia and Lithuania, which was successfully developing within the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, the Community of Democracies, as well as in the framework for expanding the EU-Mongolia cooperation and our bilateral relations.

The diplomats discussed cooperation between the two countries within international organizations. The Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister thanked Mongolia that the country supported Lithuania’s election into the United Nations Security Council.

A.Krivas assured the Ambassador of Mongolia that Lithuania supported intensified closer cooperation between the European Union and Mongolia. The EU-Mongolia relationship has been gaining momentum since April 2013, when the two sides signed the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

The Ambassador Adiya Ganbaatar resides in Warsaw, Poland.

Lithuania and Mongolia established diplomatic relations on 11 December 1991.
