As of 20 September, career diplomat Dalius Čekuolis was appointed Undersecretary of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
Dalius Čekuolis, 45, was Lithuania’s Ambassador to Denmark in 1990-1994, Ambassador to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg and Lithuania’s representative in the Western European Union and the North Atlantic Cooperation Council of NATO in 1994-1998. In 1998-1999, Čekuolis headed the Committee of Senior Officials of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) and was in charge of Lithuania’s presidency over the CBSS.
In 1999-2004, Dalius Čekuolis worked as Lithuania’s Ambassador in Portugal.
