NEW LITHUANIAN HONORARY CONSUL TAKES OFFICE IN SPAIN

On 4 November, Lithuanian Ambassador to Spain Audra Plepytė Jara attended the opening of the office of Lithuanian Honorary Consul in Albacete Andrés Fornés Redondo.New Honorary Consul is assigned to carry out consular functions in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha.

A.F.Redondo fosters close ties with Lithuania. In 2006, he founded the Spanish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce and is the President of the Chamber. The Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists evaluated his efforts and appointed A.F.Redondo as the Honorary Ambassador.

The opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate was attended by representatives from the administration of the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha, presidents of chambers of commerce in the region, representatives from the civil society and business, and members of the Lithuanian community.

Besides A.F.Redondo, there are two more Lithuanian honorary consuls in Spain: Miguel Vila Regard (Catalonia and Aragon) and Rafael José de Espona y Rodriguez (Galicia).
