NATO SECRETARY GENERAL TO VISIT LITHUANIA

On 10 November NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer will pay a visit to Lithuania.
The head of the Alliance is to meet with the President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus, Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas, Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas and the Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas.
During the meetings special attention will be paid to the points on the agenda of NATO Summit in Riga – operation in Afghanistan and other NATO missions, transformation of the Alliance and partnership policy, prospects of enlargement, relations with Georgia and Ukraine.
Topical issues of the Alliance’s air policing mission in the Baltic States will be also discussed with the NATO Secretary General.
