MOLDOVAN FOUNDATION FOR CHRISTIAN DEMOCRACY APPRAISED LITHUANIA’S SUPPORT

On 22 December in Chisinau Moldovan non-governmental organisation Foundation for Christian Democracy gave annual award “Golden Heart 2006” to Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas.

By this award the Foundation for Christian Democracy appraised Mr Vaitiekūnas’ input to development of Lithuanian-Moldovan relations, evolvement of democratic processes in the Eastern space and Lithuania’s efforts made to help Moldova on its difficult path of reforms and European integration.

The award was handed out to Vytautas Žalys, Lithuanian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Moldova.

“Golden Heart 2006” awards were also presented to the Chairman of Parliament of Georgia Nino Burjanadze and influential U.S. security policy expert Bruce Jackson.
