Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns the terror attack in Istanbul and expresses condolences to the people of Turkey
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania strongly condemns the terror attack in the centre of Istanbul near Beşiktaş stadium yesterday night where dozens of people were killed and over a hundred, some of them very seriously, injured
That was a brutal attack not only against Turkey, its police officials and people, but against all the international community – terrorism has no borders.
The Ministry conveys deep condolences to the families and friends of the killed as well as to all the people of Turkey, and wishes quick recovery to the injured.
This is a grave moment. Lithuania expresses its solidarity with Turkey and reaffirms its resolution to contribute to joint efforts in addressing terrorism challenges.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no information about any Lithuanian citizens who might have suffered from the blast.
