Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns a terror attack in Istanbul and expresses condolences to the families of the victims

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns in the strongest possible terms the terrorist attack on a nightclub in Istanbul during the New Year celebration on 1st of January which left 39 people dead and dozens injured. We express our deep condolences to the families and friends of those Turks and foreigners who suffered in the attack and all the people of Turkey.
That was an atrocious attack during New Year celebration, which was directed not only on Turkey, but was meant to intimidate the whole of international community. Lithuania supports Turkey in its fight against terrorism and reiterates its resolution to deal with challenges posed by terrorism.
