MINISTERS OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF LITHUANIA AND GEORGIA HAD A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION REGARDING THE SITUATION IN GEORGIA
On 7 November Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Gela Bezhuashvili. During the conversation the ministers discussed the situation in Georgia.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia G.Bezhuashvili assured that Georgian authorities maintained full control of the situation and would seek to resolve the tension in a democratic way. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, there are no objective reasons to cancel trips to Georgia.
Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs P.Vaitiekūnas informed that he would seek to discuss the issues that are important to Georgia at the next meeting of Foreign Ministers of the European Union. G.Bezhuashvili emphasized that he especially valued Lithuania’s consistent support to Georgia.
