On 15 November, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis visited Kretinga (Western Lithuania), where he met with Mayor of Kretinga Region Valerijonas Kubilius. The Minister also had meetings with members of the Regional Council of Kretinga, local wardens and residents. At the meeting in Kretinga, the Foreign Minister spoke about the priorities of Lithuanian foreign policy, the progress of the country’s integration into the European Union and NATO, topical issues of bilateral relations with the Russian Federation, transit through the Lithuanian territory after the joint EU-Russia statement adopted on 11 November in Brussels, and answered questions from the audience. The Foreign Minister also visited Salantai, another town in Western Lithuania. At the meeting, which took place in the local House of Culture, Minister Valionis acquainted residents of the town and members of rural community with the most topical issues of Lithuanian foreign policy.
