MINISTER V.UŠACKAS TOOK PART IN A DISCUSSION AT THE WORLD LITHUANIAN ECONOMIC FORUM
On 2 July at the World Lithuanian Economic Forum, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas took part in the round table discussion: “Towards the global Lithuanian business society: where should we look for a common link?“
“This event furnishes the best proof that an active global Lithuanian business society exists, because over 100 representatives of business and academia from 5 continents - Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia – are taking part in the forum,” said Minister V.Ušackas.
The Minister emphasized that even during the downturn Lithuania remained attractive to the world due to its open economy and liberal business environment.
“We are facing a new and demanding challenge to get ready to compete and win in the global knowledge economy and barrier lifting international trade, at the same time maintaining and strengthening the primary spring that unites us, that is our Lithuanian identity,” said head of the Lithuanian diplomacy during the discussion.
The World Lithuanian Economic Forum is held in Vilnius on 2-3 July. It is organised by the International Chamber of Commerce ICC Lithuania in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy and other state institutions.
The goal of the forum is to bring together and unite Lithuanians from the entire world, to illustrate examples of already successful investments in Lithuania and to invite them to come up with new ideas and businesses, to open up broader pathways for the products and services of the country to world export markets. This forum also aims at sending a message to the world that Lithuania as a country is attractive to investments and is waiting for its compatriots, Litvaks and other potential investors to arrive with business ideas.
