Minister of Foreign Affairs has congratulated the U.S. on Independence Day

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Linas Linkevičius, has congratulated the United States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, and all Americans on Independence Day. In his congratulatory letter, Linas Linkevičius notes that the U.S. remains the key strategic partner of Lithuania in ensuring its national security and underlines the significance of strategic partnership between Lithuania and the United States and of transatlantic ties.

Minister Linkevičius writes with satisfaction that a sizable Lithuanian American community that celebrates with their fellow Americans is actively engaged in the political, cultural and economic life of the country and has contributed to building such a great and remarkable country.

Congratulating the U.S. on Independence Day, Linas Linkevičius emphasises Lithuania’s determination to continue working with the United States on tackling regional and global challenges, with the focus on the unity of the allies and the importance of the Euro-Atlantic community.

Linas Linkevičius expresses his gratitude for the U.S. unshakable commitment to the principle of collective defence and his belief that bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Lithuania and the United States will contribute to addressing regional and global challenges.

The Lithuanian Foreign Minister has invited Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, to pay a visit to Lithuania in the near future to discuss security, trade, bilateral cooperation and to participate in official events to mark the Centenary of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania.
