MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS BIDS FAREWELL TO THE LITHUANIAN COMMUNITY IN LONDON

On 14 December at Lithuania’s embassy in London, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Vygaudas Ušackas bade farewell to the Lithuanian community in the United Kingdom.

“I am grateful to my destiny that I had a possibility to represent interests of Lithuanian citizens in a country, where Lithuanians live densely indeed,” said Minister V.Ušackas thanking his compatriots for fresh ideas and close cooperation.

Foreign Minister indicated that it was possible to create joint projects effectively and implement them successfully only because of the initiative of Lithuanians living in the United Kingdom and thanks to their exuberance. Head of Lithuanian diplomacy guaranteed that there will be more and more attention dedicated to Lithuanians living abroad and their problems, particularly to the consular issues.

Members of Lithuanian community gathered to bid farewell to former Lithuanian Ambassador not only from London, but also from other cities of England and Wales.

Heads of Great Britain’s Lithuanian Union, Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom, Lithuanian City of London Club and Lithuanian Medical Association in the United Kingdom emphasized that while working in the United Kingdom for more than two years V.Ušackas was active in encouraging to strengthen sociality of Lithuanians and to create various kinds of public organisations.
