Minister of Foreign Affairs attended the Ukraine Reform Conference in London
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Linas Linkevičius, participated in an international ministerial conference on 6 July in London to discuss the agenda and implementation of Ukrainian reform. Minister Linkevičius noted that Ukraine needed a strong European prospect, as well as support for the implementation of its reforms and a comprehensive economic investment programme.
“An economic investment programme would markedly boost economic growth and would help Ukraine catch up with western European countries. Ukraine’s success is the success of the whole Europe,” Linas Linkevičius said.
The 40 high level officials, ministers of foreign affairs, representatives of European Union and international financial institutions, who attended the conference in London, together with members of the Ukrainian Government and NGO delegates considered a huge progress that had taken place during the three years since the Euromaidan Revolution of Dignity in stabilisation of finances and reform of public governance.
The conference was united on support for and commitment to help Ukraine, its institutions and its non-governmental sector in their effort to develop a modern, stable and prosperous state.
The participants of the Ukraine Reform Conference underlined that Ukraine had already done a lot in creating an environment favourable to investment, in managing banking, in strengthening combat against corruption particularly in sectors such as public procurement and energy. Pensions, state-run companies, health and land reforms are in the focus of further continued efforts.
