Minister Linkevičius meets with the outgoing Ambassador of Austria
On 5 December in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Ambassador of Austria to Lithuania Johann Spitzer, as the country is closing down its diplomatic representation in Lithuania, and discussed further cooperation between the two countries.
Linkevičius thanked the Ambassador for his personal contribution and efforts to develop relations between Lithuania and Austria, and expressed hope that cooperation between the two countries would not be discontinued even after Austria’s diplomatic representation in Vilnius was closed down.
“Lithuania appreciates our constructive bilateral relations and is willing to continue to strive to develop the relationship between the two countries in every way. I believe that we will be able to successfully develop the Lithuania-Austria cooperation on issues related to the EU, security, as well as on other global problems also in the future,” said Lithuania’s Foreign Minister.
Spitzer has served as Austria’s Ambassador to Lithuania since the summer of 2013.
