Minister Linkevičius congratulates the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated Mikheil Janelidze on his reappointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
In his congratulations letter, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister noted that in the recent elections the Georgian Government had received the mandate from the people, which had reconfirmed the strategic choice of Georgia’s path toward the European and Euro-Atlantic integration and related reforms. Lithuania remains fully committed to support and assist Georgia on this path.
Janelidze was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs on 30 December 2015. The ruling Georgian Dream party won a majority of seats in this year’s parliamentary election. On 26 November, Georgia’s Parliament again endorsed the Government headed by the Prime Minister Georgi Kvirikashvili and the Governmental Program “Freedom, Rapid Development, Welfare for 2016-2020”.
